We are proud to report significant progress in our ECD projects. All targeted ECD centres have been completed except for Nyamor and Majango, which are currently still under construction.

We have also made great strides in supporting education through bursaries. Every secondary school within West Asembo is now benefiting from our bursary program. In our commitment to education, we went a step further and established the West Asembo Bursary Kitty, managed by a dedicated board. In 2023, we successfully held a fundraising drive, marking the first milestone in our support for learners through this initiative.

Increased Access To Health Care

✓ In West Asembo, we have the following health facilities:

Note: All facilities are operational except Sangla, which is still under completion.

✓ Under health, we’ve implemented the following:

Uplifted Miyare Dispensary to a Health Center
Equipped and renovated Mahaya Health Center
Equipped maternity, laboratory, and carried out general renovation at Obaga Dispensary
Completed and equipped Ndwara Dispensary
Constructed Sangla Dispensary (ongoing completion)
Equipped maternity, laboratory, and renovated Bar Aluru Dispensary

Increased Access to Clean Water

So far, we’ve drilled and installed 11 solar-powered boreholes at the following locations:

1. Siger
2. Sangla
3. Gangu
4. Kametho
5. Rambugu
6. Lwak
7. Memba
8. Akom
9. Mahaya
10. Omboye
11. Riat Kolemo

Note: Lwak, Kametho, and Riat Kolemo boreholes are still under installation and not yet complete.

✓ In addition, we’ve desilted 3 major water pans:

• Abubni
• Kodhiambo
• Nyagoko Dam

Empowerment of Youth, Women & Vulnerable Groups

✓ We’ve empowered several women through business support in different market centers including:

• Lwak
• Wangarot
• Mahaya

✓ We’ve supported women and widow groups through:

• Table banking initiatives
• Farming activities
• Other community-based economic programs

✓ Vulnerable men and women are being supported through the Mark Okeyo House Building Program aimed at improving dignity and living standards. ✓ Youth empowerment efforts include support for driving school enrollment and licensing. ✓ We continue to encourage and support farming and fishing activities through:

• Subsidized seeds for farmers
• Provision of a patrol boat to Kadedi Beach

✓ We also support religious institutions through donations to local churches.

Improved Road Infrastructure and Markets

✓ Under roads, we’ve implemented the following projects:

1. Opening, murraming, and construction of Obaga Rakombe bridge
2. Murraming and maintenance of Kokara–Nyamboyo–Rarieda road
3. Murraming and maintenance of Omboye–Kiswaro road
4. Murraming and maintenance of Kapuoyo–Waringa road
5. Opening and maintenance of Nyagoko–Olwande road
6. Murraming and maintenance of Akom–Tiga–Kayodo road
7. Opening of Kodhiambo–Tinga road
8. Opening of Tinga–Kametho road
9. Murraming and maintenance of Gingo–Ndwara road
10. Maintenance of Ndwara–Kadedi road
11. Maintenance of Siger–Konguru road

✓ Under markets and urban improvements:

1. Erected 3 high mast floodlights at:
   • Kalandin Market
   • Lwak Market
   • Kapuoyo Market
2. Constructed 3 modern markets:
   • Wang’arot – Complete and operational (equipped with a TV)
   • Mahaya – Construction ongoing
   • Riat Kolemo – Construction ongoing through ESP
3. Constructed a modern toilet at Aram Market
4. Maintained and improved the Aram drainage system
5. Murraming and maintenance of Aram ring road

Networking and Inclusivity

✓ Through strategic networking and inclusive engagement, we have achieved the following:

• Successfully united 92 different religious churches within West Asembo, enhancing community cohesion.
• Partnered with various Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and groups such as Unbound.
• Worked closely with the National Government to implement key development projects including:
  1. Construction of Riat Kolemo ESP Market
  2. Support for Kametho Primary School through the MPESA Foundation
  3. Establishment of Aila ICT Hub for digital inclusion and youth empowerment
  4. Rural Electrification projects through REREC (Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation)
